Ian Campbell, the Poppy Appeal Organiser for the local area took part in the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall after being nominated for his volunteering efforts.

Ian first got involved in the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal in 2014 when, still in his RAF training, took part in London Poppy Day.

In 2018, Ian moved to Bristol and continued to be involved with the RBL.

He eventually took over the role of Poppy Appeal Organiser for Staple Hill and surrounding areas, where he has run successful collections for the charity.

This year, Ian, alongside his team of dedicated volunteers, has been handing out Poppies to businesses and schools across the area. Ian is currently a reservist with the Royal Air Force.

Ian said “Taking part in the Festival was emotional and gave a great sense of pride. It was a true honour to be nominated and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will never forget”.

Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla along with members of the Royal Family also attended the Royal Albert Hall.
