This week, King Charles III has written to members and thanked them for their words.
Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the chairman of the Staple Hill & District Branch wrote to His Majesty The King on behalf of the membership to express sincere condolences.
The card, which on the front cover showed the Kings new Royal Cypher and on the inside displayed an image of the King as a young Prince with his mother, the late Queen.
The card read '' It was so very kind of you to send me such a wonderfully generous message following the death of my beloved mother. Your most thoughtful words are enormously comforting, and I cannot tell how deeply they are appreciated at this time of immense sorrow.'' Charles R.
It was only a few months previous that members joined with the rest of Gloucestershire in writing to the late Queen to congratulate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee.
